Proposal to modify the specified maximum remote controlled parking operating range from 6 m to 15 m. Large markets including Canada, USA, and China do not regulate maximum remote controlled parking operating range. Remote controlled parking systems exceeding 6 m operating range are already offered in the field. Radio wave-based ranging is inherently inaccurate due to complicated and varying electromagnetic environment in garage and changing orientation of remote device, requiring safety margin integration into product design, which reduces effective usable range below 6 m maximum. Extended range remote controlled parking systems have been used in the field for several years without negative feedback or identified safety threats. |

| Reference Number: AEBS2-02-02 |

Australia proposes to amend para. 2.14. to clarify that the nominal Peak Braking Coefficient value is understood to be the minimum value, and to amend para. 5.2.1.1. to simplify collision warning requirements for vehicles of category M1. Industry objects the para. 2.14. amendment as unnecessary and potentially subject to misinterpretation as a requirement change. Industry agrees with dropping the 0.8-second prior warning requirement but finds the resulting text difficult to understand and proposes alternative wording that harmonizes para. 5.2.1.1. with paras. 5.2.2.1. and 5.2.3.1., specifying that a collision warning shall be provided no later than the start of emergency braking intervention. |

| DETA: Data requirements for aftermarket brake component approvals |
| Reference Number: DETA-56-04 |
|
In GRPE, discussions regarding control of aftermarket brake components with regard to brake particle emissions have prompted CLEPA’s desire to have access to type approval information to enable development of these components. Vehicle manufacturers make considerable investment in deriving these data and a supplier typically does not offer all affected brake components making a simple compliance test more difficult. OICA and CLEPA members are coming closer to an agreement regarding the necessary data, reducing the amount of data to be shared. A similar situation has been identified between UN R13H and UN R90. |

Research plan for ACPE vehicle performance. Tests using actual vehicles will evaluate ACPE performance of vehicles on the Japanese market. Tests specified in UN R175 01 series will be conducted, along with tests under extended conditions with partially expanded test parameters. Test procedure for creeping vehicle specified in UN R175 01 series, paragraph 6.6.2, will be conducted. Activation limits of ACPE will be confirmed using distance to target and pedal application speed as test parameters. Tests will use one 2026 model year Suzuki Swift and one 2026 model year Daihatsu Move. Vehicle procurement by end of September, testing late October to November, data analysis by end of December, summary of research results early January. |

| UN R13-H: Proposal for a Supplement to the 02 series of amendments |
| Reference Number: GRVA/2026/36 |
|
Proposal to amend Annex 8, para. 3.4.1. to require that the strategy chosen shall not prejudice safe operation of the system due to failures with other systems involved in achieving the function of the system, and amend Annex 8, para. 3.4.4. to require that analysis of system behaviour on fault occurrence includes faults with other systems involved in achieving the function of the system, and to correct ‘safetys’ to ‘safety’. The proposal addresses a collision where tyre failure resulted in unsafe ABS activation. Although the 02 series clarified ABS as part of electronic control systems assessment, it does not explicitly state what is covered, potentially missing relevant faults or failures influencing system function. The additions ensure all relevant faults or failures are accounted for in manufacturers’ safety concept and analysis. |

Transport Canada presented ACPE research testing comparing three vehicles—2025 Tesla Model 3, 2025 Subaru Forester, and 2025 Toyota Crown Signia—against UN R175 minimum performance requirements and real-world pedal misapplication crashes. Analysis of 14 EDR data cases revealed none would require ACPE intervention under current R175 criteria. Testing included UN R175 procedures and recreation of six real-world crash scenarios. Proposed 2026 research includes investigating radar signatures of wall structures, obstacle distances exceeding 1.5 metres, accelerator pedal application rates and travel, and false positive test procedures. |

Proposal to establish a new UN Regulation transposing UN GTR No. 24 into uniform provisions concerning approval of non-original and identical replacement brake parts (brake pads, drum brake linings, brake discs, and brake drums) with regards to particle emissions. The regulation applies to vehicles of category M₁, N₁, and N₂ between 3.5 and 5 tonnes maximum mass. Replacement brake parts must comply with particle emission limits, with emission factors calculated using test wheel load and friction braking share coefficient for the brake emissions family parent. Approval marks must be affixed to approved parts, and conformity of production shall be verified through sampling and testing procedures. |
