Proposal defines the working pressure for an LNG tank to be the primary relief valve setting (paragraph 4.4.), without stating a minimum value of the said relief valve. If a vehicle has an on-board tank with a primary relief valve that opens at a lower pressure than that at which the filling station is set to stop, the primary relief valve will open during refueling and this is an obvious safety risk. |

|
Proposal to require, in instances where ogive protective covers are fitted to a cylinder, that the covers be removed before conducting the impact damage (drop) test. The proposal further would amend and clarify the need for a gas flow adjuster under UN R110 with regard to the use of carburetors and fuel injectors. A gas flow adjuster is not necessary when an electronic fuel injection system manages the air/fuel mixture and therefore should be removed from paragraph 18.3.1. An adjuster is needed when air/fuel mixture runs via a carburetor and therefore should be added to paragraph 18.3.2. |

| UN R110: Proposal for the 03 series of amendments |
| Reference Number: GRSG-114-10/Rev.1 |
|
Proposal developed by the Gas-fueled Vehicle Regulations Task Force to facilitate periodic inspections of gas containers through better visibility. In addition, Germany suggests adding a paragraph to allow a Contracting Party or a regional organization of Contacting Parties like the EU to refuse national or regional type-approval and to refuse first registration of a vehicle type affected by the changes introduced by the 03 series of amendments but not meeting those stipulations. Paragraph 24.22. is an addition to paragraph 22.18. giving more stress to the aspects of national and regional type-approval and of first registration of vehicles. |

| UN R110: Proposal for amendments concerning gas flow adjuster |
| Reference Number: GRSG-114-27 |
|
Proposal to amend and clarify the need for a gas flow adjuster under UN R110 with regard to the use of carburetors and fuel injectors. |

| Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 110 - CNG compressor |
| Reference Number: GRSG-113-25 |
|
Proposal for discussion to enable the certification of CNG compressor components. Due to density and temperature constraints, LNG fuel systems require technologies to warm the LNG fuel to reach temperatures and pressures suitable for the engine. In some configurations, this involves the use of CNG compressors. Therefore, this proposal seeks to enable use of this technology through establishment of requirements to ensure safety. |

| Proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 110 - Periodic requalification |
| Reference Number: GRSG-113-20 |
|
Proposal to improve provisions for the visual inspection of CNG cylinders, LNG tanks, and their accessories. Germany has proposed (document GRSG-112-33) the prohibition of components or parts of protective housing which must be disassembled during inspection. Italy has proposed (document GRSG-112-28) that visual inspection of cylinders Include access inside any protective covers of the cylinders. Based upon field experience, OICA believes that corrosion damage between support straps, brackets, and pads and the cylinder can be readily identified during visual inspection. Such corrosion requires cylinder replacement. Therefore, OICA proposes clarifications to inspection procedures to address the German and Italian concerns. |

| Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 110 |
| Reference Number: GRSG/2016/16 |
|
Proposal to allow for the use of natural gas refrigeration systems to vehicles propelled by natural gas (CNG or LNG). This proposal addresses a new, environmentally friendly natural gas fuelled refrigeration system for trucks with refrigerated loads that already are propelled by natural gas. Currently paragraph 18.1.7.1 allows heating systems to be fitted on vehicles to heat the passenger compartment and/or the load area of a vehicle, however, the same provision omits cooling systems that are used on trucks for the carriage of loads requiring refrigeration. |

|
Proposal to amend GRSG/2015/36 introducing requirements for the operation of a CNG heater when the vehicle is stationary and before starting the engine. The limitation on the number of valves used to operate the CNG combustion heater will require technical changes without any significant benefit. The proposal therefore deletes the limitation and introduces additional clarifications. |

| Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 110 |
| Reference Number: GRSG-110-26 |
|
Editorial amendment to document GRSG/2016/8 for clarity. The original proposal would allow the use of Class 0 hoses with couplings using sealing technologies other than those with a 45° cone provided that the hose assembly can withstand the impulse test of paragraph 1.7. and the tests of Annexes 5A (overpressure test) and 5B (external leakage test). This proposal clarifies that the original sealing-cone specification or other compliant couplings, including designs with soft seals (e.g., O-ring) provided they pass testing described in Annexes 5D, 5F, and 5G. |

| Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 110 |
| Reference Number: GRSG/2016/8 |
|
Proposal to allow the use of Class 0 hoses with couplings using sealing technologies other than those with a 45° cone. Currently, non-seamless double and single wall tubes are used in brake and fuel tubing applications, allowing for the use of a variety of end forms and coupling techniques. Provided the hose assembly can withstand the impulse test of paragraph 1.7. and the tests of Annexes 5A (overpressure test) and 5B (external leakage test), such configurations should be permitted under UN R67 in order to remove an unwarranted design restriction. In cases where a soft seal body (e.g. O-ring) is used, the compatibility of the material with use conditions must be demonstrated by testing according to Annexes 5D (CNG/LNG compatibility test), Annex 5F (resistance to dry heat) and Annex 5G (ozone aging). |

Supplement 1 to the 01 series included requirements for the positioning of LNG tanks. While the Netherlands believes that mounting the LNG fuel tank 200mm above the road surface is broadly adequate; this proposal aims to ensure that the fuel tank cannot, under any normal driving or stationary working situations, come into contact with the ground. The new wording provides more definitive conditions, including the possibility of a vehicle having one or more flat tires as well as for those vehicles that have ‘kneeling’ capability or variable suspension, both of which lower the frame of the vehicle closer to the ground. |

| The use of CNG and LNG fuelled Vehicles carrying dangerous goods |
| Reference Number: WP.15-29-10 |

Since the 1960’s diesel has been the predominant fuel used for the propulsion of heavy goods vehicles. Fuel-related requirements for dangerous goods (ADR) vehicles have been based upon this prevalence; however, duel fuel vehicles using CNG and LNG have raised issues concerning the use of such fuel systems on ADR vehicles. This paper discusses ADR vehicles and such gaseous fuels. |
