UN Regulation 14 aims to ensure the proper functioning of anchorages within an occupant restraint system. The regulation prescribes test procedures to assess the strength of seat-belt and/or child-seat anchorages. The tests subject anchorages to static loads representative of a forward collision according to vehicle type, covering cars, trucks and buses (all M and N vehicles). In some cases, UN R14 permits a dynamic sled test in place of the static load tests.
