UN Regulation No. 29 aims to reduce the risk of occupant injury due to deformation of the cab of a commercial vehicle (N categories) during a frontal collision and/or rollover accident.
Three test procedures assess the crash performance of the front end, A-pillars, and the roof strength of the cab.
The regulation alternatively permits the use of computer simulations or other means to demonstrate a vehicle cab’s compliance with the performance limits.
