Proposal to amend UN R176 (Field of Vision Assistant Systems). This document amends and supersedes ECE/TRANS/GRSG/2026/18. The supplement introduces requirements for vehicles of categories X and Y, and vehicles with manual mode operating above 6 km/h equipped with an Automated Driving System. Vehicles of category X without a driver’s seat and vehicles of category Y are exempted. Vehicles equipped with an ADS must comply when operated manually by a driver on-board from a driver’s seat. Field of Vision Assistant systems must comply with requirements except when the vehicle is parked or performing the Dynamic Driving Task while an ADS feature is active.

Proposal to clarify that ocular reference point adjustment applies only to back angle, and to reference the original version of UN R166 to prevent future ambiguity should Annex and paragraph numbering change in subsequent amendments.
