8 Sep GTR 21: Proposal for Amendment 2 to UN GTR No. 21 () WP.29/2026/205 2026-09-08 Proposal to establish a harmonized method for determining system power ratings of hybrid electric vehicles and pure electric vehicles with multiple propulsion energy converters. The GTR specifies two test procedures (TP1 and TP2) to measure power at defined reference points analogous to conventional engine output shafts. TP1 measures electrical power and estimated ICE power; TP2 measures torque and speed at axles or wheel hubs. The procedure identifies reference points based on powertrain architecture, requires manufacturers to provide verifiable K factors for energy conversion efficiency, specifies measurement accuracy requirements, and includes validation criteria. The GTR applies to vehicles in categories M1–M2 and N1–N2 with maximum laden mass not exceeding 3,500 kg, excluding fuel cell vehicles.
8 Sep GTR 22: Proposal for Amendment 2 () WP.29/2026/207 2026-09-08 Proposal to establish minimum performance requirements for in-vehicle battery durability of pure electric vehicles and off-vehicle charging hybrid electric vehicles, requiring manufacturers to install State-of-Certified Energy and State-of-Certified Range monitors, set minimum allowable SOCE values of 80% for categories 1-1 and 1-2 vehicles and 75% for category 2 vehicles at 5 years or 100,000 km (whichever comes first) and 70% and 65% respectively at 8 years or 160,000 km, implement a two-part in-use verification process to verify monitor accuracy and battery durability through statistical methods and remote data collection, allow manufacturers to declare higher performance requirements, and include verification of reported virtual distance for vehicles with V2X functionality or non-traction purposes.
8 Sep GTR 25: Proposal for Amendment 1 to UN GTR No. 25 on In-vehicle Battery Durability for Electrified Heavy Duty Vehicles () WP.29/2026/209 2026-09-08 Proposal to establish harmonised methods for determining in-vehicle battery durability performance of heavy duty pure electric vehicles and heavy duty off-vehicle charging hybrid electric vehicles. The GTR introduces a State of Certified Energy monitor to track battery health over time, defines minimum performance requirements as optional provisions by contracting parties, and specifies in-use verification procedures in two parts: Part A verifies monitor accuracy through measurement of usable battery energy using four alternative test methods, and Part B verifies battery durability against minimum performance requirements through remote data collection from vehicle samples. Virtual distance calculations account for energy used in vehicle-to-grid, power take-off, and non-traction applications.
