Proposal to amend UN R18, UN R39, UN R46, UN R55, UN R58, UN R67, UN R73, UN R93, UN R97, UN R102, UN R105, UN R107, UN R110, UN R116, UN R121, UN R122, UN R125, UN R144, UN R147, UN R151, UN R158, UN R159, UN R160, UN R161, UN R162, UN R163, UN R166, UN R169, UN R176, UN R181, UN R182 and UN R183:

• Add new paragraphs defining Software Identification Number by reference to Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3) Annex 7, para. 2,
• amend paragraphs concerning production discontinuation to clarify that production is not considered definitively discontinued if vehicle manufacturers intend to obtain subsequent extensions of approval for software updates of vehicles already registered in the market,
• add new paragraphs requiring manufacturers to provide Technical Services with information on all hardware and software having an influence on performance,
• add new paragraphs allowing vehicle manufacturers to apply for new vehicle approvals to differentiate software versions for vehicles already registered in the market from those for new vehicles,
• add new paragraphs to approval forms requesting additional information regarding software identification and software updates, including whether Software Identification Number is held on the vehicle and relevant parameters for identification of vehicles that can be updated with the represented software.

Proposal to insert and amend provisions for Supplement 2 addressing Automated Driving Systems:

• Insert new paragraphs 0, 0.1 to 0.1.3 introducing Supplement 2 to address vehicles of category X and those equipped with an Automated Driving System (ADS)
• Amend paragraphs 1.2 and 1.3 to clarify scope exclusions including manual triggering of AECS while ADSF-2 is active and vehicles of category Y
• Amend footnote 1 regarding armoured vehicle definition
• Insert new paragraphs 2.34, 2.34.1 and 2.34.2 defining ADS feature, ADSF-1 and ADSF-2
• Amend paragraph 26.4.1 to require AECS control accessibility by occupants for ADSF-2 equipped vehicles
• Amend paragraph 26.5.3.1 Table 3 regarding self-test function information
• Amend paragraph 26.6 to specify voice intelligibility for passengers in ADSF-2 equipped vehicles
• Amend paragraph 35.6.1 requiring AECS control accessibility for ADSF-2 equipped vehicles
• Amend paragraph 35.8 to specify voice intelligibility for occupants in ADSF-2 equipped vehicles

Proposal to amend and supersede ECE/TRANS/GRSG/2026/9 to supplement the 01 series of amendments to UN R144. New provisions address vehicles of category X and those equipped with an Automated Driving System. Vehicles of category Y are exempted. Amendments clarify AECS control accessibility for occupants in vehicles with ADS feature of type 2, define ADS feature types, update exclusions, and modify hands-free audio performance requirements for drivers or passengers as applicable.

Proposal to introduce a new “call for help” signal.

Proposal from the GRSG task force on Automated Vehicles Regulation Screening to exempt ADS vehicles of subcategory Y from the requirements and to adapt the requirements for application to ADS vehicles, including vehicles of subcategory X. The proposal relies on the establishment of requirements for ADS vehicles to define specifications for ADS performance while an ADS feature is active.
