GRE held its ninety-fourth session from 27 to 30 April 2026 in Geneva. The Working Party adopted proposals for amendments to UN Regulations on lighting and light-signalling devices, including proposals to UN Regulation No. 148 and No. 149 as draft Supplement 8 to the 01 series, and to UN Regulation No. 10 as draft Supplement 3 to the 07 series, mandating the secretariat to submit these to the June 2026 and November 2026 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as appropriate. GRE agreed to continue consideration of several proposals at its next session, including those on call for help signals, manufacturer logos in lighting devices, pair of lamps clarification, retro-reflective device colour requirements, selective yellow for front lamps, supplemental light-signalling devices, and direction indicator projections, noting concerns from vulnerable road users representatives. GRE extended the mandate of the Informal Working Group on Electromagnetic Compatibility until December 2028 and decided to continue technical discussions on automated driving system marker lamps. The next session is scheduled for 20 to 23 October 2026, with a working document submission deadline of 27 July 2026.

Proposal to:

• Amend Table 18 to delete maximum values at point 50L and correct minimum values at point 50L to 1,360 cd (20% CoP) and 1,190 cd (30% CoP) and delete the associated note,
• amend Table 21 to delete maximum values at point 50L and correct minimum values at point 50L to 1,360 cd (20% CoP) and 1,190 cd (30% CoP) and delete the associated note,
• amend Table 23 to correct maximum values at Segment 10 to 7,100 cd (0% CoP), 8,520 cd (20% CoP), and 9,230 cd (30% CoP),
• amend Tables 30 and 31 to correct minimum values at point HV to 25,920 cd (20% CoP) and 22,680 cd (30% CoP),
• amend Table 24 to delete the associated note regarding multiplication by 1.4,
• amend Table 28 to correct point BR maximum values to 2.65×10³ cd (0% CoP), 3.18×10³ cd (20% CoP), and 3.45×10³ cd (30% CoP),
• amend Table 29 to correct point BR maximum values to 2.65×10³ cd (0% CoP), 3.18×10³ cd (20% CoP), and 3.45×10³ cd (30% CoP),
• amend Table 35 to correct CoP minimum values at point 2U-V to 1.04×10⁴ cd (20% CoP) and 9.10×10² cd (30% CoP) and at points H-9L and H-9R to 2.16×10³ cd (20% CoP) and 1.89×10³ cd (30% CoP),
• amend Annex 4, para. 1.6.2.1. to correct references to table notes from notes 1 and 7 to notes a and f of Table 7.

Proposal to introduce Automated Driving System (ADS) requirements into the Regulation and correct figures in Appendix 8. The proposal inserts new introductory paragraphs addressing vehicles of categories X and Y equipped with an ADS; amends paragraph 1.3 to include ADS control requirements; inserts new paragraph 2.9.4 on ADS presence; extensively revises paragraph 2.12 on immunity related functions to include ADS-related functions; deletes paragraphs 2.26 and 2.27; inserts new paragraph 2.32 defining “ADS test configuration”

Proposal to replace “multiple separate light sources” with “multiple light sources” in the provision governing rear position lamps reciprocally incorporated with stop lamps.

IWG EMC prepared supplement 3 to the 07 series of amendments to UN R10, with terminological adjustments for ADS adoption, addition of categories X and Y, technical refinement of ADS including a new ADS table in Annex 6 paragraph 2.1.1.2, and modifications to artificial networks with discharge voltage below 50 V and maximum discharge time of 20 seconds. For the 08 series, approved proposals are prioritised on a roadmap.
