Agenda for the 132nd session of the Working Party on General Safety Provisions, scheduled 28 September to 2 October. The session will address amendments to UN R107, UN R43, UN R46, UN R67, UN R110, UN R116, UN R161, UN R162, UN R163, UN R151, UN R158, UN R159, UN R166, UN R121, UN R122, UN R125, UN R0, UN R160, UN R169, UN R58, UN R105, UN R73, UN R39, and UN R58. The session will also cover vehicle automation, periodical technical inspections, driver distraction and drowsiness warning systems, and door open warning systems.

Proposal to amend UN R18, UN R39, UN R46, UN R55, UN R58, UN R67, UN R73, UN R93, UN R97, UN R102, UN R105, UN R107, UN R110, UN R116, UN R121, UN R122, UN R125, UN R144, UN R147, UN R151, UN R158, UN R159, UN R160, UN R161, UN R162, UN R163, UN R166, UN R169, UN R176, UN R181, UN R182 and UN R183:

• Add new paragraphs defining Software Identification Number by reference to Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3) Annex 7, para. 2,
• amend paragraphs concerning production discontinuation to clarify that production is not considered definitively discontinued if vehicle manufacturers intend to obtain subsequent extensions of approval for software updates of vehicles already registered in the market,
• add new paragraphs requiring manufacturers to provide Technical Services with information on all hardware and software having an influence on performance,
• add new paragraphs allowing vehicle manufacturers to apply for new vehicle approvals to differentiate software versions for vehicles already registered in the market from those for new vehicles,
• add new paragraphs to approval forms requesting additional information regarding software identification and software updates, including whether Software Identification Number is held on the vehicle and relevant parameters for identification of vehicles that can be updated with the represented software.

Proposal to insert new paragraphs 0 and 0.1 to 0.1.2 providing introduction to Supplement 4 covering vehicles of category X and Y with Automated Driving System, amend paragraphs 0.1, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.4 footnote 1 to define vehicle categories by reference to ECE/TRANS/WP.29/78/Rev.8, insert new paragraphs 2.17 and 2.18 defining ADS feature of type 1 and ADS feature of type 2, amend paragraph 4.4.1 footnote 4 to reference ECE/TRANS/WP.29/78/Rev.8 Annex 3, amend paragraph 5.1.2 to define device to prevent unauthorized use with reference to driver or ADS brake deactivation requests, amend paragraph 8.3.4.1 to specify immobilizer setting procedures, and amend Annex 11 paragraph 4.3.3 to exclude remote-control manoeuvring and parking, vehicles of categories X and Y, and activated ADSF-2 with authorized registered digital key from certain requirements.

Proposal to supplement 01 Series of Amendments to UN R116. Supplement 4 extends application to vehicles of category X and Y, and vehicles with manual mode operating above 6 km/h equipped with Automated Driving System. New definitions added for ADS feature of type 1 and type 2. Device to prevent unauthorized use definition amended to include locking steering, transmission, gearshift control, or brakes. Immobilizer setting requirements modified. Annex 11 requirements do not apply during remote-control manoeuvring and remote-control parking under UN R79, for vehicles of categories X and Y, or when ADSF-2 is activated by authorized registered digital key.

Proposal to enable application of UN R116 to ADS vehicles.
