Proposal to amend UN R18, UN R39, UN R46, UN R55, UN R58, UN R67, UN R73, UN R93, UN R97, UN R102, UN R105, UN R107, UN R110, UN R116, UN R121, UN R122, UN R125, UN R144, UN R147, UN R151, UN R158, UN R159, UN R160, UN R161, UN R162, UN R163, UN R166, UN R169, UN R176, UN R181, UN R182 and UN R183:

• Add new paragraphs defining Software Identification Number by reference to Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3) Annex 7, para. 2,
• amend paragraphs concerning production discontinuation to clarify that production is not considered definitively discontinued if vehicle manufacturers intend to obtain subsequent extensions of approval for software updates of vehicles already registered in the market,
• add new paragraphs requiring manufacturers to provide Technical Services with information on all hardware and software having an influence on performance,
• add new paragraphs allowing vehicle manufacturers to apply for new vehicle approvals to differentiate software versions for vehicles already registered in the market from those for new vehicles,
• add new paragraphs to approval forms requesting additional information regarding software identification and software updates, including whether Software Identification Number is held on the vehicle and relevant parameters for identification of vehicles that can be updated with the represented software.

Proposal to insert new introduction paragraphs and amend multiple sections for Supplement 6:

• Insert new introduction paragraphs defining Supplement 6’s scope for vehicles of category X and Y and vehicles with Automated driving System
• Insert new paragraphs 2.4. and 2.5. defining ADS feature of type 1 and ADS feature of type 2
• Amend paragraphs 0.1., 1.1. footnote 1, 4.4.1. footnote 3, 5.2.4.1., Annex 2A paragraph 1.4. footnote (b), and Annex 9 paragraph 4.3.2. to update references to the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3) document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/78/Rev.8
• Clarify immobilizer setting procedures
• Specify exemptions for remote-control manoeuvring, remote-control parking, vehicles of categories X and Y, and activated ADSF-2 with authorized registered digital key

Proposal to amend UN R162 to introduce Supplement 6 to the original version. Supplement 6 addresses vehicles of category X and Y, as well as vehicles with manual mode operating above 6 km/h equipped with an Automated driving System. New definitions for ADS feature of type 1 and type 2 are introduced. Amendments specify immobilizer setting procedures and provide exemptions during remote-control manoeuvring, remote-control parking as defined in UN R79, for vehicles of categories X and Y, and when an ADSF-2 is activated by an authorized registered digital key. This document amends and supersedes ECE/TRANS/GRSG/2026/14.

Proposal to adapt UN Regulation No. 162 (Immobilisers) for automated driving system (ADS) vehicles. Supplement 6 extends the regulation to vehicles without drivers or manual controls, including category X and Y1 vehicles and those with ADS operating above 6 km/h. The amendment defines two ADS feature types and modifies immobilizer requirements to account for vehicles lacking traditional ignition systems and driver controls. Requirements for remote-controlled maneuvering and authorized digital keys are clarified.

Proposal from the GRSG task force on Automated Vehicles Regulation Screening to enable application of UN R162 to ADS vehicles.
