Proposal for Supplement 1 to UN R102 to amend provisions for vehicles of categories X and Y and vehicles with an Automated Driving System operating at speeds above 6 km/h. Amendments add logic signal transmission to the ADS indicating power system/control system failures, correct engagement of positive locking systems, and maximum extension of hydraulic or pneumatic close-coupling devices. Testing provisions are modified for ADS-equipped vehicles, including steering equipment actuation at maximum performance allowed by the ADS.

Proposal to enable application of the Regulation to ADS vehicles.

Proposal to require driver signals to be transmitted to the ADS and to introduce provisions for assessing ADS responses to the signals.
