Draft text for a new UN regulation on the safety of electric motorcycles and related vehicles.

Proposal for a 01 series of amendments to the proposed new UN Regulation on the approval of vehicles with regard to their pole side impact performance to enable Contracting Parties applying this new regulation to require a vehicle-to-pole impact speed of 32 ±1 km/h regardless of the “vehicle width”.

Certain anti-theft systems fully lock every door and window in a vehicle and also deactivate interior unlock controls. This can lead to a situation where an occupant can be locked inside a vehicle with no means of exit save to break a window. This proposal would introduce provisions for the safety and protection of road vehicle occupants in case of the installation of such a full locking system.

The text prepared by Spain on behalf of the Technical Services Group (TSG) on Regulation No. 44. The proposed amendment is intended to clarify a number of technical provisions in the regulation.

The present requirement for booster with belt guides for the diagonal belt is more stringent than for boosters without belt guides. Proposal by the GRSP secretariat to delete Appendix 3 (examination of the mobile impact barrier) to Annex 5 of UN R95. The secretariat suspects that the appendix is superfluous, but wishes to confirm if Appendix 3 should remain for any examination purposes of the Type Approval Authority responsible for the mobile deformable barrier.
