The informal working group (GRE IWG EMC) is revising UN Regulation No. 10 and it has been agreed to include a vehicle level test for radiated immunity for emergency calling systems. There are two main scenarios under discussion in GRE IWG-EMC:

Proposal to introduce a new definition for “radiant warmer”, to exclude such devices from the definition of “electric heater”, and to add a new safety requirement that such warmers must turn off immediately if there is contact with a vehicle occupant’s skin.

Document GRSG/2022/17 addresses provisions for heavy duty vehicles and battery electric cars. This proposal would make editorial changes without altering the meaning of the proposed definitions.

The proposal in document GRGS/2022/15 was approved by GRSG during its 123rd session and submitted to WP.29 for adoption (WP.29/2022/126) during its November session. This proposal, if approved by GRSG, would impact the proposal pending before WP.29.

Proposal to enable GRSG approval of documents GRSG/2022/23, GRSG/2022/24 and 2022/25 as a new series of amendments to facilitate traceability.

Proposal to correct misalignment between GRSG/2022/10 as amended and adopted by the 123rd GRSG session and subsequently submitted for adoption by WP.29 during its November 2O22 session with document GRSG-123-15/Rev.1 as discussed and agreed during the 123rd GRSG session.

Proposal to allow additional checks in terms of passive safety on the national level (for example, destruction of seats mounts, injury-causing objects entering the residual space and moving within it, operability of the emergency hatches).
