The amendment clarifies requirements for supply lines serving additional thermally activated pressure relief devices (TPRDs) on compressed hydrogen storage systems. It specifies that supply lines must be constructed from metallic materials, demonstrate mechanical integrity through qualification tests excluding drop tests, and establishes handling procedures to prevent damage. The proposal also defines container attachments and refines test procedures for burst pressure, drop impact, permeation, and localized leak testing.

Modifications include: adjusting shoulder height dimensions in Annex 18 table 1 to align with anthropometric data for children from 40-70 cm; permitting one additional insert layer for infants below 50 cm; establishing minimum stature of 35 cm; and adding transitional provisions regarding type-approval acceptance timelines from September 2028-2029. Changes address fit concerns for premature newborns and small children.

The proposal is based on informal document GRSP-78-44 and permits Contracting Parties to issue approvals according to the 05 series of amendments, which aligns with Revision 3 of the 1958 Agreement.
