The experts from the Task Force amending UN Regulation No. 134 (TF-R134) introduced informal document GRSP-76-16 amending ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2024/25, proposing amendments to UN Global Technical Regulation (GTR) No. 13, Amendment 1. They explained that the intent of the proposal was not to introduce new requirements but rather to clarify and remove the inconsistencies between the rationale and test requirements for the mechanical integrity and durability tests for supply lines for additional Thermal Pressure Relief Devices (TPRDs). In a side meeting, some experts requested additional time to review these changes. A meeting of interested parties will convene on 20 February 2025 to discuss the proposal and next steps before the March WP.29 session. The goal of this meeting is to reach a consensus on the necessity of the clarification proposed in informal document GRSP-76-16. If consensus is reached, the request for authorization and the proposed amendment will be made at the 77th session of GRSP in May 2025. Interested parties were also invited to work together to minimize divergence between UN GTR No. 13 and UN Regulation No. 134 on this subject.
