The objective of this proposal is to differentiate bodied quadricycles from the wide variety of vehicles of category L7 covered by the definition in paragraph 2.1.7. of the Consolidated Resolution on the Construction of Vehicles (R.E.3) with a view to enhancing the passive safety of bodied heavy quadricycles for the transport of passengers.
Review of regulations with regard to automated driving

Review of GRSG regulations and possible need for changes to address automated driving. The table considers how often regulations refer to a “driver” where the absence of a human driver could raise questions.
Proposal to update the definition of “key” in line with technological progress and clarifying that a “key” is specifically a means for access, not an anti-theft system.
Proposal for additional checks following complete vehicle tests:
destruction of seats mounts. The break-off and displacement of seats is not covered by the current Regulation, since they are initially located inside the residual space and their displacement is not assessed;
injury-causing objects entering the residual space and moving within it (e.g., if a person is hit by a fire extinguisher or other object when the vehicle overturns, it may cause serious or even fatal injuries).
