6 Apr 2019 UN R67: Proposal for Supplement 1 to the 02 series of amendments (Germany) GRSG-116-05/Rev.1 2019-04-06 Proposal to improve the specifications for LPG multi-valves in response to an LPG vehicle fire that resulted in injuries to first responders. A German Type Approval Authority (KBA) analysis concluded that the hose connecting the PRV/PRD of the multi-valve to the gaseous phase was damaged and hose-fragments blocked both PRV and PRD such that pressure could not be adequately reduced. The PRV and PRD were activated, but the fragments considerably reduced the effective section of the relevant tubing and prevented the release of pressure. This proposal aims to prevent such occurrences. Germany

17 Apr 2024 UN R46: Proposal for Supplement 1 to the 06 series of amendments (Germany) GRSG-127-04/Rev.2 2024-04-17 The Working Party on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (WP.15) has noted that problems could arise during the approval of vehicles intended for the carriage of explosive substances and articles (Class 1) for vehicles intended for the carriage of liquids having a flash-point of not more than 60°C. (EX/III and FL vehicles) fitted with a camera monitoring system which complied with the requirements of UN R46. The European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) stipulates that the electrical circuits must be broken within 10 seconds after operation of the battery master switch. This might conflict with paragraph 16.1.1. of UN R46 which requires that, after each engine switch-off (intended use), the camera-monitor system remains operational for a period of at least 120 seconds. This proposal aims to resolve the disparity between UN R46 and requirements for ADS vehicles. Germany

No mandatory UN Regulation or Global Technical Regulation for Door Opening Warning Systems exists internationally, resulting in regional inconsistencies. A virtual kick-off workshop was held on 1 April with participation from contracting parties and stakeholders. The workshop reviewed accident data from Germany and China, discussed potential technical parameters for DOWS, and identified the need for broader international data collection. Further workshops are envisaged pending availability of substantive new input. Germany China
