UN R39 allows for odometer units in miles. This proposal would clarify requirements for systems that can switch the odometer units between kilometers and miles to ensure that only one unit of measurement for total distance is used at a time.

Proposal to allow the use of manufacturer logos inside the illuminant surface of a signalling lamp.

Introduces wording to clarify that the performance of protective helmets may be affected by using accessories not tested during the type approval procedure. Changes introduced by customers on helmets are not covered once the helmet has been type-approved.

The purpose is to ensure that the target test speed is either 10 km/h, or 20 km/h, in forward motion, or 6 km/h in reverse motion and that the tolerances given by the regulation are linked to the testing and not used for more favorable testing speed.
