- amends the document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSG/2025/12 to ensure equal treatment of all Contracting Parties signatories to this UN Regulation.

Proposal to add omitted text from the formal documents

Proposal for withdrawal based on to highlight the broader implications for vehicle design and usability for consumers resulting from this proposal. The lowering of the sideguard and reduction in ramp angle will give reduced flexibility for vehicles and trailer combinations in certain applications (i.e. loading roll-
on, roll-off vessels) and conflict with the road surface and local infrastructure (i.e. grounding out), which will lead to damage or reduced life of sideguards.

Proposal to amend the minimum height (clearance distances) of lateral protection devices for vehicles with longer distance of axle and to amend the transitional provisions to exempt Contracting Parties that apply UN R73 on or after the entry into force of the 02 series from the obligation to accept approvals granted in accordance with paragraph 11.11. of the Regulation.

Proposal to amend the minimum height of Lateral protection devices for the vehicle with longer distance of axle

Proposal aims to make extendible trailers conform to all lateral protection requirements for trailers regardless of length, in order to remove the safety risk to vulnerable road users when the trailer is in the fully extended position. This is achieved by the removal of section 13.1.1. and 16.1.1 that specify some exemptions to requirements when the trailer is extended.

Proposes additional requirements for LPD installation on vehicles equipped with blind spot information systems are specified.
