46. The expert from Japan, co-organizer of the workshop on the implementation on UN Regulation No. 155 that took place on 8 July 2021, introduced GRVA-11-18, explaining the purpose of the workshop and reporting on the outcomes of this workshop.

47. The expert from France announced that their Approval Authority was going to issue a Cyber Security Management System Certificate of Conformity. GRVA clarified that the activities performed under the workshop on the implementation of UN Regulation should not stop Contracting Parties to issue type approvals.

48. GRVA agreed that the secretariat together with National Traffic Safety and Environment Laboratory (Japan) organize further workshops on the implementation of UN Regulation No. 155.

28. The Chair of GRVA introduced working document ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2021/151 to WP.29, proposing an updated Table 1 in the Framework Document on automated/autonomous vehicle. WP.29 considered and adopted this proposal, with the square brackets removed.

56. GRVA discussed the deliverables of the IWGs on FRAV and VMAD. GRVA adopted GRVA-14-51/Rev.2 (Proposal for amendments to ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2021/151 (Framework document)) and requested the secretariat to submit it to AC.2 and WP.29 for information at their November 2022 sessions.

45. GRVA adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2021/21 and requested the secretariat to submit it to WP.29 as supplement to UN Regulation No. 155 (for consideration and vote by AC.1 in March 2022) and as amendment to the Interpretation document for UN Regulation No. 155 (also for consideration and vote by WP.29 in March 2022).

39. The secretariat introduced WP.29-184-15 proposing updates to Table 1 of the Framework document on automated/autonomous vehicles (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2019/34/Rev.2). He explained that the document was developed by AC.2, and that it had been reviewed and completed by GRVA at its tenth session and that it included the last-minute amendments proposed by the IWGs on Validation Method for Automated Driving (VMAD) and Event Data Recorder / Data Storage System for Automated Driving (EDR/DSSAD).

40. The representative of the European Union introduced document WP.29-184-18 tabling proposed changes to the rows on DSSAD and EDR in WP.29-184-15.

The World Forum discussed and endorsed the revised Framework document on automated/autonomous vehicles (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2019/34/Rev.2), as amended by WP.29-184-15 and the EDR/DSSAD related amendments in WP.29-184-18, with deadlines for submission of EDR related deliverables to WP.29 reflected in its Table 1 remaining in square brackets. WP.29 requested the secretariat to distribute the revised document with an official symbol for final consideration in November 2021.

29. The expert from Japan, Co-Chair of the IWG on Cyber Security and Over-the-Air issues (CS/OTA) reported on the activities of the group (GRVA-09-11). He proposed that the group would focus with high priority on the development of a guidance document for the purpose of the 1998 Agreement in order to develop a harmonized approach for both the 1958 and 1998 Agreement. GRVA supported the proposal.

30. The expert from the Russian Federation introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2021/5. He recalled the discussion at the seventh session of GRVA on para. 5.3.5 in UN Regulation No. 155. The expert from OICA provided comments (GRVA-09-08). The expert from Germany advised to not paraphrase Schedule 6 or add requirements that would differ from those in the 1958 Agreement. The expert from Japan expressed concerns related to the implementation of the provisions in the 1958 Agreement and therefore proposed to keep the text unchanged. The expert from France supported the position expressed by the expert from Japan. The experts from Italy and UK expressed similar positions. The expert from the Russian Federation explained that the case was not related to disputes as in Schedule 6. He proposed to withdraw his proposal and to discuss it at a meeting of the IWG on International Whole Vehicle Type Approval.

63. The secretariat introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2021/59 and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2021/60 based on informal documents WP.29-182-05 and WP.29-182-07, and WP.29-182-06, respectively, endorsed by WP.29 at its November 2020 session. WP.29 thanked the secretariat for providing the official documents with the translations in French and Russian and formally adopted them.
