Proposal to clarify requirements of the optical signal for a CSF intervention to ensure sufficient flashing tell-tale visibility for the driver, to specify the duration of such ACSF signals, to ensure a safe hierarchy of signals (e.g., ESF over CSF) by priority, to clarify that deactivation when departing an ODD means the “off mode”, and to add a cross-reference pointing to paragraphs that define cases of manual and automatic deactivation.

Proposal to reduce testing burdens by introducing an alternative test method to “decrease the charge air cooler outlet temperature by the same amount that the ambient conditions for the vehicle test varied from the standard temperature.” This aligns with SAE J1349, “9.3 Application of Vehicle Transient Data to Net Power Test.”

1. clarify the relationship between approval levels, reference fuels and PN limits for PI vehicles and to modify the calculation formulae for determination of evaporative emissions in accordance with changes already agreed in UN GTR No. 19
2. correct errors in Working Paper 2019.08
3. expand 2019.08 to clarify the special provisions, and
4. resolve a contradiction in requirements concerning the provision of SCR reagent consumption data via the serial port of the standard diagnostic connector.

Proposal to

Proposal to align the provisions of the 03 series of amendments to UN R24 with UN R85. Other amendments are proposed in order to bring the format of UN R24 up to date.

Proposal to

1. exempt hybrid vehicles that do not provide valid test results (e.g., internal combustion engine active under test conditions)
2. clarify the text concerning permissible AVAS operating conditions
to differentiate indoor and outdoor facility requirements (e.g., weather station requirement) and
3. update flowcharts in Annex 3 in line with text.
4. add a footnote to the scope to exempt electrified vehicles where the internal combustion engine (ICE) operates under the test conditions
5. clarify the intention of paragraph 6.2.:
   • that AVAS may be operational outside the specified speed ranges (e.g., in the USA where the speed range extends to 30 km/h),
   • align maximum sound with UN R51.03 ASEP, and
   • explicitly specify that the AVAS may function even when the ICE is running
6. clarify under paragraph 6.2.6. that a manufacturer may install an attenuation to enable the system to operate at different sound levels
7. split and clarify indoor and outdoor testing specifications under Annex 3 paragraph 2.2. to account for different needs such as a weather station
8. amend the flowcharts in the Annex 3 Appendix to better reflect the regulation text
9. align the transitional provisions in the 01 series of amendments with the format introduced following Revision 3 of the 1958 Agreement.

Proposal to correct a reference in Supplement 3 to the 03 series of amendments, to introduce transitional provisions in line with the transitional provisions in Supplement 3, and to reintroduce a sentence deleted by mistake in Supplement 4 to the 03 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 51.

Proposal to amend UN R64 in line with the introduction of the “extended mobility tyre” into UN R30 (see document WP.29/2019/50).

Proposal to clarify the identification, marking and test provisions applicable to tyres designed for speeds above 240 km/h.

Proposal to clarify that UN R140 does not mandate the installation of electronic stability control systems (ESC) on vehicles but rather specifies requirements for the approval of vehicles should they be equipped with an ESC system.

Proposal to

1. correct a type in Annex 7- Appendix 2, Part 2, Paragraph 5 where the snow group index should read “1.00”, not “100” as appeared erroneously in the adopted text
2. correct the text where the word “tyres” was inadvertently omitted from Paragraph 2.1.
3. align the provisions of UN R117 regarding approval numbers and markings with the provisions of Schedule 4 to the revised 1958 Agreement.

Proposal to clarify that UN R139 does not mandate the installation of brake assist systems (BAS) on vehicles but rather specifies requirements for the approval of vehicles should they be equipped with a BAS system.

Proposal to align the text in Annex 7 with UN R78 and to insert the reference to the L₆ and L₇ vehicle categories to respond to requests from the industry for type approval for the replacement brake lining assembly for these vehicles.

Proposal to introduce provisions relevant to the activation of stop lamps under more conditions than application of the service brake only, e.g. also by regenerative braking.

Series of proposals from the WLTP informal group to improve and clarify the text of GTR 15 on light vehicle emissions.

6. change the 145 cm stature of the Specific Vehicle Booster seat to 150 cm stature as this is the correct upper limit, and
7. clarify that Conformity of Production assessments shall be conducted under the same requirements as those of the original approval or, if applicable, the extension of the approval.
