Proposal as approved by the GRSG to update and improve provisions concerning passenger entry/exit, driver compartments, passageways, use of signs, and emergency lighting pursuant to the work of the informal group on Service Doors, Windows and Emergency Exits (SDWEE).

Text prepared by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) to introduce the concept of “revision of approvals” into the UN Regulations under GRRF responsibility in order to align the UN Regulations with the EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval Directive 2007/46/EC in order to ease the administrative burden for both manufacturers and approval administrations regarding the extension of existing approvals.

Proposal to clarify that the regulation applies to the type approval of anti-theft devices if fitted in the vehicle (and therefore is not meant to render such devices compulsory in vehicles).

The text would require assessment of normal and extended fields of vision using a single mirror adjustment and to allow for the loss of up to 10% of the close-proximity field of vision in such configurations.

Proposal to introduce requirements to prevent accidents when the flap covering the engine compartment is open.

Proposal to amend requirements for the minimum number of priority seats: four in Class I, two in Class II and Class III and one in Class A and Class B and disallowing the priority designation for folding seats.

The proposal would allow tank valves stay open in a commanded stop-start phase as it is the case for the idling phase of non-stop-start vehicles. These provisions are similar to those for UN R110 on CNG vehicles.

Proposal to introduce type-approval provisions for fuel selection systems into the regulation on compressed natural gas-powered vehicles.

Proposal to introduce new provisions into Regulation No. 67 for preventing the flow of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) into the petrol or diesel tank, and vice versa in order to address a potential safety risk in bi-fuel or dual-fuel vehicles.

Proposal to amend Annex 12 of the regulation to align its safety prescriptions for trolley buses with current electrical standards.

Text as approved by the GRSG to introduce type-approval provisions for vehicles equipped with liquefied natural gas propulsion systems. The proposal has been prepared as a new consolidated version of UN Regulation No. 110.

Corrections to the text concerning testing of resistance to chemicals in Annex 20 and to references in Annex 21.

Proposal to align UN R115 with UN R83, replacing FC_mean with FC_norm as defined in UN R101. FC_mean, as defined in paragraphs 6.1.2.4.3.2. (LPG) and 6.2.2.4.3.2. (CNG) of UN Regulation No. 115, is the mean value of the fuel consumption of all the parent (test) vehicles, whereas the calculation of the gas ratio has to be made individually for each parent vehicle.

Proposal to correct the generic provisions on automatic functions in table 1 of Supplement 7 to UN Regulation No. 121.

Proposed objectives, deadline, and rules of procedure for the expert group established to consider performance requirements for post-accident in-vehicle emergency call systems.
