WP.29 voted to align UN Regulation procedures with the EU Whole Vehicle Approval Directive 2007/46/EC. This document proposes revisions to regulations under the purview of GRSG per the revised UN Regulatory Procedures and Transitional Provisions (document WP.29/1044/Rev.1).

France submitted this proposal to clarify the provisions for bumpers of vehicle types complying with the performances requirements specified in the new UN Regulation on pedestrian protection. This document is based on informal document GRSG-101-24.

If a setting makes it possible for the driver to select the odometer display distance in km or miles independently of the speedometer, the odometer shall identify the unit used.”

Research paper prepared in 2017 for the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) to examine how improvements can be made by presenting the best practices implemented in some Member States and countries outside of the EU and highlight available technologies and solutions.

The purpose of this 2018 study was to establish the scale of vehicles with manipulated odometers imported from Germany, to investigate how odometer manipulation can take place, and to identify bottlenecks in combating odometer manipulation in vehicles imported from Germany.
