At its previous session (GRSG-112), GRSG approved a proposal by Germany (GRSG/2016/20) as revised in document GRSG-112-35 with the proviso that OICA would prepare a final document including transitional provisions for consideration at GRSG-113. Based upon the new general guidelines developed for Revision 3 of the 1958 Agreement, the new requirements would transition into application from September 2020 for new types of vehicles and September 2022 for all existing types. 4 Oct 2017 UN R46: Proposal for amendments to the 04 series of amendments (OICA) GRSG-113-17 2017-10-04 Proposal to clarify the camera monitor provisions with regard to the use of image overlays. The current English text can be interpreted to allow overlays only when the vehicle is moving in reverse. In particular, this resulted in an unambiguous translation into French allowing overlays only when the vehicle is in reverse gear. The original intent was to limit overlays to rear views of the vehicle regardless of the moving vehicle direction. Therefore, this proposal clarifies the English and French texts. OICA
11 Oct 2017 UN R46: Revised proposal for amendments to the 04 series of amendments (OICA) GRSG-113-17/Rev.1 2017-10-11 Proposal as amended following GRSG discussions to clarify the camera monitor provisions with regard to the use of image overlays. OICA

OICA
4 Oct 2017 OICA comments on document GRSG/2017/22 concerning UN R67 (OICA) GRSG-113-19 2017-10-04 OICA proposal of modifications to the Turkey proposal to insert new provisions on the location on the vehicle of the filling unit, marking of the LPG container date of production, and a limitation on the maximum service life of LPG containers to 15 years. Given that the risks concern containers located outside and under the vehicle, OICA proposes focusing discussion of the 15-year service life on such containers. In addition, the proposal would introduce new requirements and therefore would require transitional provisions. OICA
4 Oct 2017 Proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 110 - Periodic requalification (OICA) GRSG-113-20 2017-10-04 Proposal to improve provisions for the visual inspection of CNG cylinders, LNG tanks, and their accessories. Germany has proposed (document GRSG-112-33) the prohibition of components or parts of protective housing which must be disassembled during inspection. Italy has proposed (document GRSG-112-28) that visual inspection of cylinders Include access inside any protective covers of the cylinders. Based upon field experience, OICA believes that corrosion damage between support straps, brackets, and pads and the cylinder can be readily identified during visual inspection. Such corrosion requires cylinder replacement. Therefore, OICA proposes clarifications to inspection procedures to address the German and Italian concerns. OICA
4 Oct 2017 Proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 110 - Transitional provisions (OICA) GRSG-113-21 2017-10-04 Proposal to include transitional provisions for the alignment of UN Regulation No. 110 with ISO 11439:2013 per document GRSG/2017/31. OICA

Manufacturers must comply with legal requirements established by local authorities around the world. 6 Oct 2017 Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 110 - CNG accumulator (Netherlands) GRSG-113-24 2017-10-06 Proposal for further discussion concerning technical advances in the use of CNG accumulators as an intermediate technology for promoting high, stable pressure in CNG engine injection systems. The CNG accumulator is used to stabilize the gas pressure and to allow engine operation whenever the LNG supply system is not able to deliver fuel. This proposal would define requirements to enable the certification of these components. Netherlands
6 Oct 2017 Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 110 - CNG compressor (Netherlands) GRSG-113-25 2017-10-06 Proposal for discussion to enable the certification of CNG compressor components. Due to density and temperature constraints, LNG fuel systems require technologies to warm the LNG fuel to reach temperatures and pressures suitable for the engine. In some configurations, this involves the use of CNG compressors. Therefore, this proposal seeks to enable use of this technology through establishment of requirements to ensure safety. Netherlands
6 Oct 2017 Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 110 - Annex 5 references (Netherlands) GRSG-113-26 2017-10-06 Proposal to clarify the test procedure to be applied in assessing compliance with the requirement for "compatibility with heat exchange fluids of non-metallic parts" Annex 5Q is part of UN Regulation No. 110. In Annex 4D, the wording "Compatibility with heat exchange fluids" is used but there is no reference to the applicable tests. The proposal clarifies that the "LNG heat exchanger – vaporizer" falls within Annex 5Q. The proposal correspondingly clarifies the general overview Figure 1-2, with all tests from Annex 5, and Table 5.1 in Annex 5. Netherlands

12 Oct 2017 UN R121: Proposal for Supplement 10 to the original series of amendments and Supplement 2 to the 01 series of amendments (OICA) GRSG-113-39 2017-10-12 Proposal to delete footnote 18 of Table 1 regarding telltale no. 1 (Master lighting switch) when it is combined with telltale no. 19 (Position, side marker, and/or end-outline marker lamps). The footnote is redundant and potentially confusing since UN R121 already refers to paragraph 5. of ISO 2575-2004 which states, "A given symbol may be shown in more than one of the colours specified in 5.1 in order to convey a change in the operating condition." The proposed editorial change aims at clarifying the text of these definitions. Netherlands
3 Feb 2017 Proposal for Supplement 2 to the 01 series of amendments to Regulation No. 121 (OICA) GRSG/2017/5 2017-02-03 Proposal to align UN R121 with the 07 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 16:

the term “seat belt” is replaced by “safety belt”,

the symbol for safety belt, defined in item 21 of Table 1 in the Regulation, may be displayed in different colours to convey different meanings. Therefore, the existing footnote 18 has been added to item 21, and

this symbol may be replaced by different symbols for seats other than those of the front row. Therefore, a new footnote 22 is added to item 21.

In addition, paragraph 5.1.5. is modified and paragraph 5.1.7. introduced to take into consideration the content of GRSP/59, page 24, regarding paragraphs 8.4.3.2.1. and 8.4.4. on safety-belt reminders for occupants of rear seat row(s). This proposal does not change any of the technical requirements of UN R121. This proposal also aligns UN R121 with ISO 2575 per ISO Resolution 664 allowing for use of the diesel engine glow plug symbol with non-diesel technologies that (also) assist engine starting at low temperatures. The current text of the Regulation focuses on diesel engine glow plugs that assist in starting the engine at low temperatures. OICA
