Proposal to resolve a longstanding inconsistency in UN R125 between the lower datum point (§5.1.1.3, set at 5°) and the obstruction requirement (§5.1.3, set at 4°), by aligning the lower datum point to 4° while retaining upper and lateral aspects of §5.1.1. unchanged. The 5° datum point has never been used for any technical requirements beyond serving as a reference point, while the 4° obstruction requirement has prior precedent. As this is a vehicle rather than component requirement, the datum point is also proposed for deletion from UN R43, retaining it solely in UN R125.

Proposal to exempt vehicles of subcategories X and Y (ADS vehicles) from the requirements on UN R167 and to delete the provisions for Unique Identifier markings.

Proposal to amend UN R167 to address Automated Driving Systems (ADS), exempting category Y vehicles and category X vehicles without a manual on-board mode from the regulation’s scope, while requiring ADS-equipped vehicles to comply when operated manually. Additional amendments update references to the three-dimensional H-point machine per Mutual Resolution No. 1, and revise approval marking provisions to remove the Unique Identifier option.

Proposal to clarify the EDR trigger input in the case of vehicles approved to UN R169 (M₂, M₃, N₂, N₃) equipped with airbags (Supplemental Restraint Systems).

Proposal to clarify that ocular reference point adjustment applies only to back angle, and to reference the original version of UN R166 to prevent future ambiguity should Annex and paragraph numbering change in subsequent amendments.
