This proposal concerns to amendments to Annex 7. The proposed changes regarding sound enhancement systems are based on the 03 series of amendment up to Supplement 9. In addition, some clarifications concerning power definition and temperature correction have been included based on experiences with the last changes of this regulation.

Proposal to update the terms of reference for the Informal Working Group on Real Driving-Additional Sound Emission Provisions (RD-ASEP) covering vehicles of categories M₁, N₁, and L₃, with primary objectives to develop amendments from monitoring data, modify current regulations to mandate revised RD-ASEP, update Annex 9, delete Annex 7, and develop consistency between UN R51 and UN R138, chaired by Germany with OICA as Secretary for M/N categories and IMMA for L category, with working documents for motorcycles by January/February 2025, for M₁ and N₁ vehicles by end of 2025 for GRBP discussion in January/February 2026.
