Proposal for amendments relating to the approval of Enhanced Child Restraint Systems that feature an impact shield.

Revision 3 of the 1958 Agreement allows for a Unique Identifier (UI) under the DETA system as an alternative to the current approval mark. In the case of child restraint systems, the approval mark contains important information for users. Therefore, this proposal would prohibit replacement of the approval mark by the UI.

Consolidated version of UN R129 including the proposals for the 02 series of amendments (WP29/2016/107), Supplement 1 to the 02 series of amendments (GRSP/2016/19), and Supplement 2 to the 02 series of amendments (GRSP/2016/22). 2. align paragraph 6.6.3.1. with the 01 series of amendments,
3. to align requirements in 7.1.3.1 to test methods in 8.1.2.4.,
4. add tolerances to better define the test method in paragraph 8.1.2.3.,
5. improve the specifications for the measurement of dimensions C and D in Annex 23,
6. align deceleration test requirements with acceleration test provisions (making explicit that it is mandatory to match the corridor for each test, and
7. define the initial acceleration value under paragraph 7.3. against which the maximum deviation restriction is to be applied.

Proposal to improve the translation into Russian of the text originally adopted in its English version and to correct a typographical error in the Russian text.

Proposal to revise paragraph 6.6.4.1.6.2. to prevent incorrect use as “Without the anti-rotation device and/or without the shoulder strap positioner in use, unless:

• a visual and an audible warning signal
