On the first of August 2012, an amendment to Sweden’s national type-approval legislation introducing the possibility for approval of retrofit emission control systems entered into force in Sweden.

Draft new Regulation on uniform provisions concerning the approval of Retrofit Emission Control Devices (REC) for heavy duty vehicles, agricultural and forestry tractors and non-road mobile machinery equipped with compression-ignition engines. GRPE has requested a formal draft for June 2013.
