| ETRTO inputs to C3 test method brainstorming session |
| Reference Number: TA-52-05 |
|
ETRTO analysis of the European C3 tyre market segmentation, emission levels per tyre segment, and vehicle configurations. ETRTO recommends focusing on Segment A (Heavy Duty Tyres 22.5 for Long haul and regional usage), which captures approximately 71% of wear emissions. ETRTO evaluated five alternative methods to the convoy method using criteria including time to market, representativeness, regulatory suitability, and cost. ETRTO concludes the convoy method focusing on Segment A is the only feasible method given the mandated timeline, despite drawbacks including test duration and environmental impact. |

| Considerations on the C3 Tyre Abrasion Test Method |
| Reference Number: TA-52-02/Rev.1 |
|
Document presents Japan’s heavy-duty vehicle market structure, C3 tyre classification and market share, and proposes concepts for vehicle and indoor drum test methods for C3 tyre abrasion testing. The vehicle test concept recommends establishing a single test method based on typical operating conditions using the WHVC mode, with the drive axle as reference. The indoor drum test method is proposed as preferable due to higher test accuracy and lower environmental impact compared to vehicle testing. Test conditions under consideration include input conditions based on WHVC with curve and slope running modes, inflation pressure and load aligned with vehicle specifications, drum diameter potentially increased from 3 m, and drum surface conditions based on C1 tyre definitions. |

Note by the secretariat reporting on GRPE activities. WP.29/AC.1 adopted all proposals including a new UN Regulation on tyre abrasion. WP.29 agreed to host a demonstration of EV retrofitted vehicles at its 200th session in November 2026. The first meeting of the IWG on prioritization identified topics for discussion including common understanding of prioritization, high-level review of current activities, possible approaches to define prioritization, criteria for establishing new groups, and how to enhance efficiency of informal working groups and task forces. Mongolia acceded the 1958 Agreement. Light duty fuel efficiency improvement trajectory and HDV fuel efficiency measurement harmonization were tackled in GRPE. The UNECE secretary was invited to join a UNEP partnership on battery circularity to be launched in 2027. |

| Fast- & Smart-Charging (F&SC) Cluster : Draft Terms of Reference |
| Reference Number: GRPE-95-07/Rev.1 |
|
Terms of Reference for the UNECE EV fast- & smart-charging cluster, a joint activity of WP.5 e-mobility Task Force and the IWG on EVE. The cluster aims to promote user-friendly, safe and scalable adoption of fast and smart charging functionalities of electric vehicles and their integration in the energy system. Task A develops a new WP.29 resolution on DC Fast Charge Power Curve (FCPC) of electric vehicles in three phases: Phase 1 establishes a harmonized test procedure for light duty vehicles; Phase 2 develops requirements for consumer information and minimum performance requirements; Phase 3 investigates expansion to heavy duty applications. Task B inventories the need for harmonization of other recharging capabilities and recharging documentation, including collecting existing international standards and initiatives, identifying discrepancies and gaps, and issuing a harmonized standardization/regulatory roadmap for smart and bi-directional charging of EVs by vehicle category. Chairmanship is held by The Netherlands from January 2025 to October 2027. |

| GTR 21: Proposal for Amendment [2] |
| Reference Number: EVE-100-04/Rev.1 |
|
Proposal to amend UN GTR No. 21 in a consolidated version. The document establishes a worldwide harmonized method to determine system power rating for electrified light-duty vehicles comparable to traditional measures for conventional vehicles. It specifies two test procedures: TP1 based on measured electrical power and estimated ICE power, and TP2 based on measured torque and speed at axles or wheel hubs. The GTR introduces the reference point concept to identify where mechanical power is first produced from stored energy, establishes applicability rules for each procedure based on powertrain architecture, requires manufacturers to provide verifiable K factors and hybrid power flow descriptions, mandates five test repetitions with averaging of the last four results, and adds internal validation criteria. The procedure aligns measurement accuracies with UN GTR No. 15 and permits use of validated onboard data where accuracy is demonstrated. |

| Tire Abrasion Circuit Test Results in Korea |
| Reference Number: TA-52-08 |
|
Test findings from seven circuits in the Republic of Korea show that estimated SRTT17S abrasion levels at 20 °C exceeded the specified range of 25–75 mg/(kmt) at six of the seven circuits tested. These results indicate that conducting UN R186 tyre abrasion tests in the Republic of Korea on circuits that meet the current range would be challenging at present. The Republic of Korea suggests reviewing the suitability of the current circuit abrasion level range and commits to support efforts to establish a circuit abrasion level range applicable to circuits worldwide. |

Industry guidelines developed jointly by CLEPA and OICA to provide a harmonised methodology for determining the carbon footprint of passenger cars through their full life cycle, from material extraction through production, use, and end-of-life. The guidelines establish four levels of assessment based on data granularity and intended application (ranging from public policy analysis to detailed supply-chain reporting), with fixed methodological approaches for Levels 3 and 4. They specify treatment of GHG emissions including biogenic carbon, land use change, and fossil emissions; define data quality requirements including primary data collection and allocation procedures; and establish system boundaries across material production, parts and vehicle assembly, use, and end-of-life stages, employing the Circular Footprint Formula for material recycling assessment. |
