- Add year of publication extensions to ISO 7637-2 references
- Clarify the two types of electrical/electronic sub-assemblies (ESA) and related testing provisions
- Add references to the edition for EMC standards
- Update Model A and B approval markings
- Add missing failure criteria for “Advanced Driving System” (ADS) “Brake mode” vehicle test conditions
- Correct a reference to IEC 61000-4-5
- Improve consistency, align with relevant standards, and clarify provisions.

Proposal to clarify: - The voltage requirements for light-emitting diodes (LED),
- The requirements for the activation of direction-indicator lamps to ensure compatibility with driver control assistance systems as permitted under UN Regulation No. 171,
- That direction-indicator lamps on one side of a vehicle shall be switched ON and OFF automatically, and
- The provisions for category 5 devices by adding “per side” in the requirements.
