Proposal to include examination for soot in the exhaust pipe of vehicles equipped with particulate filters. If a particulate filter is defective and/or has been removed, soot deposit are likely to appear on the exhaust pipe, highlighting a potential problem with the particulate filter.

The update provides a summary of the key updates to GTR15 which are proposed for Amendment 6. These cover the following topics:

The Technical Report to amendment 3 gives the background to the amendment that proposes the need to modify the scope and to add procedures and requirements on Conformity of Production (CoP) as an Optional Annex. The amendment also replaces the previous cross-references to technical requirements in UN Regulation No.83 07 series with the full text of those requirements to align with UN regulation on WLTP.
