AEGPL comments on Poland's Supplement proposal for UN R67 (GRSG/2017/10)
Reference Number: GRSG-112-20
In GRSG/2017/10, Poland proposes requirements for the LPG tank and its accessories. AEGPL notes that UN R67 requires a specific bonfire test of the container equipped with specific configurations of accessories which includes markings to indicate the extension number of each accessory corresponding to each configuration. In order to ensure that the user knows whether an accessory can be fitted with a specific container, AEGPL proposes to require marking the extension number on the accessories relevant to the bonfire test (multivalve, pressure relief valve and pressure relief device) in order to prevent/forbid the fitting of any accessory not approved for use in each container configuration. This alternative proposal to that in GRSG/2017/10 would imply a new marking requirement for accessories, but would avoid the proliferation of accessory type-approval numbers and increase in paperwork.

In addition, paragraph 5.1.5. is modified and paragraph 5.1.7. introduced to take into consideration the content of GRSP/59, page 24, regarding paragraphs 8.4.3.2.1. and 8.4.4. on safety-belt reminders for occupants of rear seat row(s). This proposal does not change any of the technical requirements of UN R121.
This proposal (WP.29/2017/116), as corrected by its Corr.1, was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-seven Contracting Parties out of the 51 applying UN R121 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-seven voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
Proposal to correct the scope of the GTR to align with Part A of the GTR, UN R43, and regional/national interpretations and to align the impact test procedure description with that of UN R43 and ISO 3537. The scope is amended to add “panes or as partitioning” while deleting the wording “use of double windows panes, each pane is considered a separate item of glazing panes”. The impact test procedure is clarified to define the point of impact with reference to the test piece (not the current “supported area”) and within 25 mm of its geometric centre and 50 mm of its centre.

Based upon the new general guidelines developed for Revision 3 of the 1958 Agreement, the new requirements would transition into application from September 2020 for new types of vehicles and September 2022 for all existing types.
Proposal for amendments to UN Regulation No. 110 - Periodic requalification
Reference Number: GRSG-113-20
Proposal to improve provisions for the visual inspection of CNG cylinders, LNG tanks, and their accessories. Germany has proposed (document GRSG-112-33) the prohibition of components or parts of protective housing which must be disassembled during inspection. Italy has proposed (document GRSG-112-28) that visual inspection of cylinders Include access inside any protective covers of the cylinders. Based upon field experience, OICA believes that corrosion damage between support straps, brackets, and pads and the cylinder can be readily identified during visual inspection. Such corrosion requires cylinder replacement. Therefore, OICA proposes clarifications to inspection procedures to address the German and Italian concerns.
Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 110 - CNG accumulator
Reference Number: GRSG-113-24
Proposal for further discussion concerning technical advances in the use of CNG accumulators as an intermediate technology for promoting high, stable pressure in CNG engine injection systems. Proposal for a new Regulation on agricultural vehicle couplings
Reference Number: GRRF/2018/4
Formal proposal from the ACDC informal group for consideration by GRRF for a new Regulation on uniform provisions concerning the approval of mechanical coupling components of combinations of agricultural vehicles.
Research has shown that dynamic testing under Appendix 1 is more demanding than the static testing under Appendix 5. As a result, approvals based upon static testing are not equivalent to approvals based on dynamic testing. This proposal, therefore, would delete Appendix 5. In addition, this proposal amends Appendix 1 by reducing the forward movement of the head of the manikin to 1.2 m in alignment with UN Regulation No. 14. Further, the proposal would limit the movement of the seat anchorages to 100 mm to ensure a minimum residual space for the passenger between the seats. Lastly, to ensure that seat fixations are reliably fastened after relocation, the proposal would require the necessary information to be marked directly on the seat and provided in the owner’s manual.
This document addresses the need to align Regulation No.115 to the Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/1151 , supplementing Regulation (EC) No 715/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council on type-approval of motor vehicles with respect to emissions from light passenger and commercial vehicles (Euro 5 and Euro 6) and on access to vehicle repair and maintenance information, amending Directive 2007/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, Commission Regulation (EC) No 692/2008 and Commission Regulation (EU) No 1230/2012 and repealing Commission Regulation (EC) No 692/2008.
