Proposal to amend the GTR on tyres to incorporate China national tyre requirements.

Proposal for additional tyre specifications to

1. add values specified in FMVSS 119, clause S6.2 table II
2. add small rim diameter sizes that will not meet the larger sizes of the GTR

OICA presentation on a field study undertaken to collect data on tyre pressures of vehicles in use towards assessing the effectiveness of direct and indirect tyre-pressure monitoring systems on the maintenance of correct inflation levels.

Proposal to correct the paragraph numbering of the original proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 54 contained in document GRRF/2017/18. The introduction of new paragraphs by Supplement 21 and the separation of paragraph 3.1. into subparagraphs 3.1.1. and 3.1.2. result in the proposed paragraph 3.1.12. being renumbered as 3.1.13.

Proposal as approved by GRRF during its 84th session to correct references to paragraphs in Regulations Nos. 30 and 54 which need updating pursuant to renumbering in the source regulations.

Action item 4 : ETRTO will make a proposal on the relationship between the test pressure used in each GTR test and the test pressures stamped on the sidewall as per 3.3.5 and 2.56.

Action item 5 : It seems that the markings are mandatory in Tyre GTR. ETRTO will investigate if the markings in paragraph 3 are mandatory according to the GTR text and will assess the need for rewording of paragraphs 3.2 and 3.3.

Action item 6 : ETRTO will provide the justification to change in R54 (and in GTR) the definition of the measuring rim, considering the prerogatives of the IWG to change or not existing text from R54.

The light vehicle emissions GTR (WLTP) is being transposed into a UN Regulation. Given its complexity, the preferred approach is to draft a UN Regulation that would allow national/regional application with different stringency levels. The task force preparing the UN Regulation version of the GTR seeks IWVTA informal group input to understand issues that may impact the application of the light vehicle emissions regulation to whole vehicle type approvals.
