15 Feb 2012 Proposal for amendment to Regulation No. 90:02 (CLEPA) GRRF-72-15 2012-02-15 UN R90 unintentionally omits the bedding procedure for the brake drum high load test for M2, M3, N2 and N3 vehicles. CLEPA proposes using the same bedding procedure as already adopted for the thermal fatigue test for such vehicles and for the high load tests for trailers. CLEPA

21 Feb 2014 Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 90 (CLEPA) GRRF-76-42 2014-02-21 Proposal to clarify that like original brake discs and drums, original brake lining assemblies & drum brake linings are also not subject to this regulation and to refine the definition of "maxle" as the "maximum technically" permitted mass of the axle in alignment with the definition in Annex 11-Appendix 1, Table 1 of UN R13. CLEPA
24 Feb 2014 Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 90 (CLEPA) GRRF-76-42/Rev.1 2014-02-24 Reformatted proposal to clarify that like original brake discs and drums, original brake lining assemblies & drum brake linings are also not subject to this regulation and to refine the definition of “maxle” as the “maximum technically” permitted mass of the axle in alignment with the definition in Annex 11-Appendix 1, Table 1 of UN R13. 19 Sep 2014 UN Regulation No. 90 approval numbers and certification issue (CLEPA) GRRF-78-51 2014-09-19 For testing purposes, UN R90 defines a "test group" as a grouping of parts having the same characteristics. The regulation then defines a "variant" as a part within a "test group". However, the approval numbers under the rule stipulate the identification of each variant certified. As a result, the text technically requires certification of each individual part (variant) which was not the intention of the drafters. CLEPA raises this for information purposes with the intention to put forward a proposal at the next GRRF session. CLEPA
14 Sep 2015 Proposal for amendments to Regulations No. 90 (CLEPA) GRRF-80-12 2015-09-14 Proposal to remove tables specifying general values for replacement discs and drums that are identical to the original (2.3.3.4) since such replacements must by definition have values identical to the corresponding original parts. The proposal also would change the maximum permitted thickness variation of discs for medium and heavy vehicles from 0.030 mm to 0.050 mm (the common OEM specification). CLEPA
19 Jan 2016 Proposal for amendments to ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRRF/2016/22 (CLEPA) GRRF-81-04 2016-01-19 Updated version of the proposal to remove tables specifying general values for replacement discs and drums that are identical to the original (2.3.3.4) since such replacements must by definition have values identical to the corresponding original parts. The proposal also would change the maximum permitted thickness variation of discs for medium and heavy vehicles from 0.030 mm to 0.050 mm (the common OEM specification). This revised proposal clarifies that the proposal would revise the specifications for vehicles of categories M3, N3, O3 and O4 but retain the maximum permitted specification of 0.030mm for vehicles of categories M2 and N2. CLEPA
5 Feb 2016 Proposal for amendments to ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRRF/2016/22 (CLEPA) GRRF-81-04/Rev.1 2016-02-05 Revised version of the proposal to remove tables specifying general values for replacement discs and drums that are identical to the original (2.3.3.4), taking into account comments received during the February 2016 GRRF session. The tables are considered superfluous since replacement parts identical to the original parts must by definition have values identical to the corresponding original parts. This proposal also would change the maximum permitted thickness variation of discs for medium and heavy vehicles from 0.030 mm to 0.040 mm (the common OEM specification). This has been changed from the previous proposal of 0.050 mm. This revised proposal clarifies that the proposal would revise the specifications for vehicles of categories M3, N3, O3 and O4 but retain the maximum permitted specification of 0.030mm for vehicles of categories M2 and N2. 14 Dec 2014 Proposal for amendments to Regulation No. 90 (CLEPA) GRRF/2015/10 2014-12-14 Proposal to clarify the definition of a "variant" in order to avoid unintended interpretations of the certification requirements that could result in additional financial and administrative costs. As currently worded the approval of a Test Group requires individual certification for each part contained within the Test Group. Some Test Groups can contain in the region of 30 part numbers. This would align the practice for brake discs and drums with that for brake linings. CLEPA
