Proposal to clarify that FVA displays indicating vehicle speed or distance traveled are not considered to be onboard speedometers or odometers for the purposes of paragraphs 5.1. and 5.2. of UN R39, including with regard to the visibility requirement during night and day in paragraph 5.2. since the speed displayed by the FVA is not the primary source of information.

Proposal to correct an editorial error regarding the markings for light source control gear, to clarify the calculation method (i.e., rounding down to three digits) for the acceptance criteria in cases where tolerance limits are calculated, and to delete provisions concerning the Unique Identifier pursuant to the decision to change its application from “by default” to “if specified in the regulation”.

Proposal to harmonise and consolidate the regional procedures and limits, update the provisions to align with Euro 7 requirements, including new particle number (PN10) provisions, a new SHED limit for evaporative emissions, updated On-board Fuel Consumption Monitoring provisions, new annexes with requirements relating to in-vehicle battery durability and a new test for range of Pure Electric Vehicles at low temperatures. An informal document amending this proposal is under development.
