Proposal for an alternative to the actuation of the remote control device for the use of Remote-Controlled Parking functions.

This document provides an update to ECE/TRANS/WP.29/2021/82 as the draft of an 04 series of amendments to UN-R79 for a Risk Mitigation Function prepared by the Task Force on ADAS. This document is also available in a version with tracked changes as GRVA-10-16/Rev.1 (pdf format and docx format).

This proposal seeks to permit manoeuvring assistance in certain low speed driving situations. The proposal is identical to that briefly presented as document GRVA-07-24 at the seventh session of GRVA (September 2020).

Additional justifications for the proposal to allow up to seven seconds to start and perform a lane change.

Proposal for amendments to the proposal to allow up to seven seconds between the start of the lane change procedure and the start of the lane change manoeuvre.

Proposal to clarify the existing text on continued support of an Automatically Commanded Steering Function of Category B1 if the boundary conditions are exceeded. It proposes to clarify that under certain circumstances, e.g. if there are no lane markings present or if the vehicle has already drifted substantially out of the lane such that the lane may no longer be recognized, a continuation of support may no longer be possible or reasonable.

Reissued proposal (prepared by the GRVA secretariat) from GRVA to introduce a “risk mitigation function” (RMF) to enable an automated emergency response to driver incapacitation or unresponsiveness during use of an automatically commanded steering function.

Reissued proposal (prepared by the GRVA secretariat) to allow continuous movement of the driver as an alternative to the continuous actuation of the remote-control parking device as a means to assure driver attentiveness.
