Proposal aims to clarify the provisions for vehicles in case of separate driver compartment and the loading area to be considered as luggage compartment for vehicles of category N.

Proposal from the GRSG task force on Automated Vehicles Regulatory Screening to exempt vehicles without manual driving controls from provisions of UN R34 applicable only to vehicles with manual driving controls, to introduce definitions for “ADS feature of type 1” and “ADS feature of type 2”, to clarify the provisions for vehicles in case of separate driver compartment, and to clarify that the loading area shall be considered as luggage compartment for vehicles of category N.
