The expert of IWG SLR proposed a new Supplement to the 06, 07 and 08 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 48 which introduced an objective value to define the visibility of the red light towards the front and white light towards the rear of the vehicle. He also made further editorial corrections (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/16). The expert from Germany suggested modifications (GRE-85-23).
17. GRE adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/16, as amended by GRE-85-23, and requested the secretariat to submit it for consideration and vote at the June 2022 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as draft Supplement 16 to the 06 series of amendments, draft Supplement 3 to the 07 series of amendments and draft Supplement 1 to the 08 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 48.
18. GRE considered a proposal for a Supplement to the 03, 04 and 05 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 48 that introduced references to the headlamp classes and a performance-oriented criterion for the visibility of red light to the front and white light to the rear of the vehicle (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/17, GRE-85-12).
19. Subject to reservation of the expert from Germany, GRE adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/17 subject to the following amendments:

GRE requested the secretariat to submit the proposal for consideration and vote at the June 2022 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as draft Supplement 8 to the 03 series of amendments, draft Supplement 21 to the 04 series of amendments and draft Supplement 16 to the 05 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 48.
21. The expert from EC recalled the earlier discussion reflected in paragraph 10 above and requested that a draft transitional provision to UN Regulation No. 48 be developed, which would introduce a deadline for acceptance of type approvals issued to the preceding series of amendments.
22. GRE addressed proposals by IWG SLR for new supplements to the 01 series of amendments (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/19) and to the 02 and 03 series of amendments (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/20) to UN Regulation No. 53 that added references to the headlamp classes. The expert from Germany tabled additional proposals (GRE-85-24). GRE invited the expert of Germany to convert GRE-85-24 into a working document for consideration at the next session.
23. Subject to reservation of the expert from Germany, GRE adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/19 and requested the secretariat to submit them for consideration and vote at the June 2022 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as draft Supplement 23 to the 01 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 53.

Subject to reservation of the expert from Germany, GRE also adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/20 and requested the secretariat to submit it for consideration and vote at the June 2022 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as draft Supplement 6 to the 02 series of amendments and draft Supplement 3 to the 03 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 53.
25. The expert from IWG SLR proposed introducing references to the headlamp classes into the 01 and 02 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 74 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/21). GRE adopted the proposal and requested the secretariat to submit it for consideration and vote at the June 2022 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as draft Supplement 14 to the 01 series of amendments and draft Supplement 2 to the 02 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 74.
26. The expert from IWG SLR also proposed introducing references to the headlamp classes into the 01 and 02 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 86 (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2021/22). GRE adopted the proposal and requested the secretariat to submit it for consideration and vote at the June 2022 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1 as draft Supplement 4 to the 01 series of amendments and draft Supplement 1 to the 02 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 86.
27. GRE stressed that the adopted amendments to UN Regulations Nos. 48, 53, 74, 86, 148, 149 and 150, as reflected in paragraphs 9, 12, 15, 17, 20, 23–26, 31 and 33, should be submitted as a package to the June 2022 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1. GRE agreed to review these proposals at its next session in April 2022.
28. GRE noted that so far IWG SLR had not been able to reconcile different positions on the proposal for headlamp levelling (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRE/2020/8/Rev.2, GRE-85-19, GRE-85-29) and decided to revert to this issue at the next session.
