Proposal to exempt “sensors, cameras, radar devices, etc.” components of approved driver assist systems from the Annex 3 prohibition against damage provided the basic braking and steering performance remains intact.

Proposal for a new UN Regulation for the type approval of M₁ vehicles with a total permissible mass not exceeding 3,500 kg and of N₁ with regard to fuel integrity and safety of high voltage systems in case of a rear-end collision. Presentation on new national legislation that defines a new vehicle category, “urban shuttle”. The legislation skirts the current M category definitions by defining an urban shuttle as having a total capacity to carry between nine and 16 passengers plus a driver with seating for 4-5 passengers. As such, France intends to propose national type approvals for such vehicles with a view to address driverless versions in future legislation.
