The additions provide consistency throughout the regulation and clarify that test results obtained in accordance with applicable local regulations are considered valid. The deletion removes an inconsistency whereby only Current integration measurement specifies a frequency of 20 Hz, while other items specify at least 10 Hz, and eliminates inapplicable wording carried over from UN R154. The isolation monitoring system monitors the isolation resistance of the vehicle system periodically or continuously and warns if isolation loss is detected. Japan proposes this requirement in order to signal problems with isolation so the vehicle can be brought in for service before the failure reaches higher severity where the occupant could receive an electrical shock.
