GRPE held its ninety-fourth session from 17 to 19 March 2026 in Geneva. GRPE adopted proposals for draft supplements and amendments to UN Regulations Nos. 68, 83, 154, 49, 24, 85, 115, 133, 143, 177, 96, and ¹⁷⁹, and to UN GTRs Nos. 21, 22, and 25, requesting secretariat submission to WP.29 and AC.1 or AC.3 for consideration and vote at their June or November 2026 sessions. GRPE adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRPE/2026/27 and requested secretariat submission to WP.29 for consideration at its November 2026 session as draft new Revision 2 to M.R.3. GRPE agreed to postpone consideration of certain proposals to forthcoming sessions. The next GRPE session is scheduled for 14–16 October 2026.

Proposal to clarify Annex 3, table A3/1 regarding minimum type-approval requirements for Euro 6e, Euro 6e-bis, and Euro 6e-bis-FCM under UN R83 by specifying the relevant series of amendments for UN R24, R85, and R168, which were omitted when the 08 Series was created as no new amendments were anticipated at the time. A minor editorial correction is also included.

Proposal clarifies the OBFCM requirements

Proposal to amend UN R180 to incorporate vehicles with Automated Driving Systems. Changes include adding ADS abbreviation and definitions for “ADS user” and “Vehicle user”; amending terminology throughout from “driver” to “vehicle user” or “driver and/or ADS”; introducing the Excess Exhaust Emissions Driver/user Warning System definition; modifying accelerator pedal references to include torque demand from ADS; and clarifying that warnings shall be sent to the ADS, which will then inform the relevant ADS user.
