Proposal to amend UN R180 to incorporate vehicles with Automated Driving Systems. Changes include adding ADS abbreviation and definitions for “ADS user” and “Vehicle user”; amending terminology throughout from “driver” to “vehicle user” or “driver and/or ADS”; introducing the Excess Exhaust Emissions Driver/user Warning System definition; modifying accelerator pedal references to include torque demand from ADS; and clarifying that warnings shall be sent to the ADS, which will then inform the relevant ADS user.
