13. UN Regulation No. 129 (Enhanced child restraint systems)

25. The expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2025/4 with a proposal to extend the definition of a module, which had already been discussed in the previous session based on an informal document (see paragraph 29 of ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/76).

26. Taking also into account the previous discussion and adoption in principle of informal documents GRSP-77-09, GRSP-77-10, GRSP-77-11 and GRSP-77-12 under agenda item 24 (b) (see paragraph 48), GRSP adopted informal document GRSP-77-12 together with ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2025/4 (as reproduced in annex V to the session report) and requested the secretariat to submit them as a proposal for supplement 3 to the 04 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 129 to the November 2025 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1.

27. The expert from CLEPA introduced informal document GRSP-77-25 regarding head acceleration requirements in UN Regulation No. 129, stating that he was asking for early feedback and intended to come back to the next session of GRSP to continue the discussion.

28. The expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands presented informal document GRSP-77-34 dealing with removal of inserts and informal document GRSP-77-35 dealing with shoulder height requirements and announced his intention to come back to the next session with working documents.

29. The expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands presented informal documents GRSP-77-36 and GRSP-77-37. Regarding informal document GRSP-77-36, the idea of initiating work on a new revision of the regulation for child restraint systems (“ISOFIX 3.0”) was well received by the experts that took the floor. The experts from Spain and the United States of America suggested that this topic be brought to the attention of AC.2 and AC.3 to seek political guidance before embarking on this work. Regarding informal document GRSP-77-37, following a preliminary discussion, the expert of the Kingdom of the Netherlands announced that he would organize an online meeting with interested parties.
