During the consultations, the expert from CITA gave a brief update (GRVA-22-34) on their activities aimed to support the test of Electrical Transmission Braking technology during Periodic Technical Inspection (PTI) and the corresponding amendment proposals to UN Regulations Nos. 13 and 13-H (ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2025/18 and ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRVA/2025/19). The expert from OICA proposed amendments to the CITA proposals (GRVA-22-04). He recalled OICA’s concern with extending the scope of On-Board Diagnostic requirements but also admitted the benefits of PTI especially in situations where electronic systems may not be sufficient to monitor (mechanical) issues.
64. GRVA took note of the presentation by the expert of CITA (GRVA-22-34) and agreed to resume consideration of this topic at the September 2025 session.
65. GRVA agreed to remove GRVA-21-04 of the agenda for the next session and to keep GRVA-22-08 under this agenda item.
