21. The expert from Germany presented the work being undertaken to transpose provisions for Deployable Pedestrian Protection Systems (DPPS) from UN GTR No. 9 into UN Regulation No 127 (informal documents GRSP-77-21, GRSP-77-22 and GRSP-77-23-Rev.1). The expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands added that this was the first time Human Body Models (HBM) simulations were being used in the Regulation, complicating the work.
22. GRSP discussed the issue of atypical windscreen fracture based on ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2025/2 and informal documents GRSP-77-38, GRSP-77-52 and GRSP-77-53. The expert from CLEPA argued that it was always possible that some windscreens would be tougher, resulting in anomalies or outliers and that the pre-test process which had been originally devised was therefore not viable. GRSP supported the approach taken in informal document GRSP-77-38, to collect data through the Database for the Exchange of Type Approval documentation (DETA). Prompted by a question from the expert from France, the expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands preliminarily suggested a 5-year period of data collection. He informed GRSP that he would bring a working document to the next session taking into account the feedback received.
23. The expert from Germany introduced ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2025/8 with a proposal to correct the moments of inertia of the femur and the tibia of the flexible lower legform impactor, which had already been discussed in the previous session based on an informal document (see paragraph 26 of ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/76). GRSP adopted ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2025/8 and requested the secretariat to submit it as a proposal for supplements 1, 4 and 3 to the 02, 03 and 04 series of amendments to UN Regulation No. 127 to the November 2025 sessions of WP.29 and AC.1.
24. The expert from Germany introduced informal documents GRSP-77-26 and GRSP-77-27. The documents were well received by GRSP and the expert from Germany announced his intention to come back to the next session with working documents.
