22. GRSP discussed the issue of atypical windscreen fracture based on ECE/TRANS/WP.29/GRSP/2025/2 and informal documents GRSP-77-38, GRSP-77-52 and GRSP-77-53. The expert from CLEPA argued that it was always possible that some windscreens would be tougher, resulting in anomalies or outliers and that the pre-test process which had been originally devised was therefore not viable. GRSP supported the approach taken in informal document GRSP-77-38, to collect data through the Database for the Exchange of Type Approval documentation (DETA). Prompted by a question from the expert from France, the expert from the Kingdom of the Netherlands preliminarily suggested a 5-year period of data collection. He informed GRSP that he would bring a working document to the next session taking into account the feedback received.
