Text prepared by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers OICA in coordination with the Informal Working Group Camera Monitor Systems (CMS II) to clarify the treatment of camera-monitor systems and similar indirect vision devices under Regulation No. 125. Presently, UN R125 exempts rear view mirrors from the requirements concerning obstructions to the driver’s forward field of vision. This proposal would clarify that rear vision camera-monitor systems benefit from the same exemptions. |

| Pixel fault test procedures to determine worst case probabilities |
| Reference Number: CMS II-03-09 |
|
Explanation of pixel fault testing. Pixel faults arise erratically across production and cannot be directly quantified by testing product samples. Moreover, pixel faults are a problem only when they affect visual perceptions of the driver. Therefore, the testing needs to determine the probability for a “disturbing” disruption of the image that could significantly interfere with a driver’s perception of the image. |
