UN R26: Proposal for the 04 series of amendments

Proposal to introduce a generic drawing to improve interpretation of the regulation, especially with regard to contactable parts (sphere protocol). The proposal clarifies which requirements apply to which part of the windscreen wiper and thus clarifies whether parts may be “exempted”. Given the implications for approvals, the proposal is presented as a new series of amendments with transitional provisions starting from September 2022.

This proposal (WP.29/2020/26) was adopted by the World Forum. Thirty-six Contracting Parties out of the 48 applying UN R26 were present for the vote by AC.1. Thirty-six voted in favor with zero against and zero abstaining.
