Text to introduce all the modifications needed in UN Regulation No. 129 (enhanced child restraint systems (ECRS)) suggested by the experts of the informal working group on child restraint systems (IWG CRS) to extend the scope of this regulation to non-integral Child Restraint Systems (“Universal Booster” or “Specific to vehicle Booster”) (Phase 2 of the UN Regulation).

Proposal of two amendments needed to enable the United States to vote in favor of the draft GTR. First, the document allows contracting parties the option of an alternate procedure for adjusting the seat and positioning the dummy based on that used by the United States during its WorldSID research. Second, the document allows contracting parties to modify the injury criteria in the GTR based on cost/benefit analysis for their own country, but using the same injury risk curves used to develop the injury criteria in the GTR.

Notification that a small editorial group will meet on 25 November to prepare a status report for the December GRSP session intended to support decisions on the future of the REESS work, including an eventual decision on whether to amend UN R100 or establish a new UN Regulation to address L-category vehicles.
