NHTSA suggestion to propose the introduction of updated UN R30 provisions into GTR 16 as a separate initiative in order to avoid delays in agreement on Amendment 2.

Amendment 2 to UN GTR No. 16 addresses the harmonization of the previously non-harmonized tests applicable to for light truck / commercial (LT/C) tyres, specifically Physical Dimensions Test and High-speed Test. Amendment 2 also covers the most recent updates of UN Regulations Nos. 30 and 54 as well as the FMVSS of the United States.

Proposal from India to revisit the informal group decision to delete a reference to rolling resistance in the draft technical document with justifications for amendments. India proposes to retain the reference because rolling resistance resistance will be defined and included in the technical prescriptions of the Tyre GTR.
